Hilton Hotels Corporation announced today that Alexander Mirza has been named to the newly-created position of senior vice president of corporate development. Benefiting his significant hospitality industry experience in both the corporate and consulting environments, he will likely be working company-wide on new product development and partnerships, including food and beverage offerings, health clubs and spas, and others. Mirza is based at the Hilton Hotels Corporation World Headquarters in Beverly Hills and reports straight to Matthew J. Hart, president and chief operating officer.

Before joining Hilton, Mirza had been a senior executive inside the travel and transportation practice at Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mirza was head of strategic planning at Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, where he was accountable for brand positioning, development planning and business innovation. Mirza started his career at First Financial, Inc. and opened the initial U.S. office servicing corporate high net-worth clients. His consulting background includes many years of project management knowledge about Deloitte/Braxton Associates inside the areas of value-based management, growth strategy and globalization.

Mirza was subsequently a senior principal at Strategos, an innovation consultancy where he worked with Hotel Management in the luxury hospitality, travel, consumer and asset management industries in the regions of customer strategy, cool product development and repair innovation. Mirza holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, with a give attention to brand marketing and corporate strategy. He also holds an M.A. in Economics as well as a B.A. Honors from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada.
